This bulletin is to let you know that as of August 31st, 2018, California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) labeling will go into effect for any Cascade Windows products shipping to the State of California.
What this means is that any window product going to California will have a small, temporary label that says, “Warning, this product contains chemicals known in the state of California to cause cancer, and birth defects, or other reproductive harm”.
As I am sure you are aware, vinyl windows are one of the most environmentally friendly building products on the market today. Our products do contain a few of the chemicals listed at www.P65Warnings.ca.gov, but the chemicals are completely encapsulated within the material and we do not expect any exposure risks through normal handling or use.
